Mussels were a 4/5, colleague had the French onion soup which she said was not La bonne soup. Service was very friendly though!

Stunning restaurant. In an area that is hard to find a non- tourist trap, this is the perfect pre- Broadway dinner. We ordered all the classics and they were absolutely delicious. Great service, cozy atmosphere. This was my favorite dinner when we visited NYC. Cannot wait to return!

Stopped by La Bonnie Soupe for a work lunch and it was an excellent experience. The restaurant is a cool little European style vibe with a small seating area and we got some bread butter and jam to start (in true French fashion). For my main course I got the steak frites which was awesome. The steak was cooked to perfection and the fries were super crispy and delicious. I almost feel guilty for not trying a soup but like that big cyborg man from Austria said, "I will be back!"

This portion of Midtown, just south of Central Park has made strides in adding good restaurants over the years, however one place remains a major part of my rotation, La Bonne Soupe. I've been coming here for years and always love how good their food and service is. On my last trip, I had the House Burger, which was fantastic. I'll continue to visit La Bonne Soupe for years to come!

So impressed with this place! I picked it on a whim while planning a birthday party for a friend who loves French food because I felt like the prices were pretty reasonable for French food. We all fell in love! My friend described the ambiance as feeling like "they were in someone's living room." It's very cozy. Service was quick and accurate. They also paid attention to my Resy denoting that it was someone's birthday! Everyone loved their food. Another friend said it was the best fries she's ever had. The boeuf bourguignon was so delicious, I want to eat it every day! My friend who always orders steak frites was impressed with La Bonne Soupe's. We all added it to our list of favorite places!

Was so happy to snag a spot here for Mother's Day brunch! The lunch prix fixe was a great deal, and the escargot, French onion soup, steak sandwich, and crepes were a hearty meal for three. A throwback soundtrack with colbie caillat was a nice touch too.

This place was cute, intimate, and cozy. It had a very authentic quaint French-bistro feel to it. My only complaint: it felt like it was 200° in there. VERY hot, even on a chilly April evening. The service was good, the staff was friendly and attentive. The food was great! I shared fondue ($55), which came with potatoes, apple slices, bread, and cornichons. It was very tasty and stayed warm throughout the entire dinner (it was over a heater/flame). For my main I got the escargot ($22) and they were soooo delicious! It came with a basket of bread for dipping, too. For wine I suggest a glass of the grenache syrah ($16). This place is a bit pricey, but the food was really good. The most bang for your buck is the $58 prix fixe. I would definitely come back with my partner so he can try the food. I just hope next time it's not insanely hot inside.

I didn't have high expectations but the food was very decent here. The steak was done actually medium rare, although it could have been seasoned a bit more flavorfully for my taste. The French onion soup was very good, and I'm generally not a big fan, and my croque madame was one of the best I've had - they tend to be too salty for me but this was nicely balanced. I did get the ice cream as well (dame blanche) but it had much more cream vs. Ice cream, although I appreciated the dark chocolate sauce. Be wary of the 'deals' here, depending on what you get, it might not be worth it to get the prix fixe. They also charge a 2% kitchen staff tip.
